The Water Services Department is seeking two qualified, results-oriented managers with professional experience in leading teams to fill the Safety Section and Training Division Water Service Superintendent positions.

Safety Section

The Safety Section Superintendent provides oversight and direction to professional safety staff in the management of worker health and safety, worker injury and illness reporting, and environmental compliance and reporting. The Safety Section is part of the Environmental and Safety Division (ESD) and includes 22 employees. This Superintendent will report to the ESD Deputy Director.

Training Division

The Training Division Superintendent oversees a team of 6 professional staff responsible for ADEQ Certification training, testing, and monitoring program; professional development and supervisory level classes, and safety related training such as confined space and lock-out tag-out training. This division also works closely with other division management in developing operational or on-the-job training classes. Over 500 training classes are offered to Water Service employees each year. This position reports to an Assistant Water Services Director.

The Water Services Department is looking to hire a Senior Utility Technician for its Wastewater Collection Division. The Wastewater Collection Division is a 24-hour, 7-day a week operation responsible for the maintenance and repair of over 5,000 miles of sanitary sewer main lines with over 105,000 sanitary sewer structures and 465,000 service connections. The division has four area maintenance yards, a closed-circuit television inspection section, and a lift station section.

This Chemist III Specialty position will manage the supervision of three sections within the compliance laboratory: Microbiology, Inorganic Wet Chemistry, and Metals.
