Youth Save Water Pledge Item 3:

Learn More About Water

The third pledge item is to learn more about water.

To be a water steward, you need to learn more about water through reading, researching, and talking to your parents, teachers, and other trusted adults about water.

Tip 1: Read, research, and talk to trusted adults about water.

If you are not sure where to start, some important ideas to learn about water are:
  • Why is water important?
  • How do we use water?
  • What is the water cycle, and how does it work?
  • Where does our water come from
  • How do we protect our water?
  • How do we save water for the future?
  • ...and more!
You can find books about water for free at your local Phoenix library branch. You can even sign up for the Phoenix Library's Summer Reading Program here. Learn more about how to earn the Summer Reading Program's Youth Save Water Pledge Badges soon!

Tip 2: When learning more about water, take notes to remember what you learn.

When learning something new, it can help to keep track of your ideas, questions, and unfamiliar words.

While you read, research, or talk to a trusted adult, you can keep track of any important ideas, new words you learn, and questions you have. Ask a trusted adult about your questions and unknown words, or look them up later with parent permission.

Come back soon for more ways to learn more about water throughout the year.
