Rosco
On July 14, 1984, K-9 Rosco was killed instantly when he leaped from his patrol car into traffic so he could assist his handler, Officer Fenton, who was investigating a drunk driver.
Dax
On October 20, 1994, K-9 Dax was fatally wounded in an incident involving a barricaded homicide suspect.
Hunter
On April 17, 1996, K-9 Hunter was fatally wounded in an incident involving a suspect who shot at officers, while attempting to make a forced entry.
R.J.
On August 13, 2005, K-9 R.J. was intentionally struck and killed by a fleeing suspect who was attempting to hit officers with his vehicle.
Bane
On Tuesday, April 17, 2018, two suspects led officers on a 30 minute pursuit following a kidnapping and carjacking that ended in the area of 27th Ave and Bethany Home Road after officers deployed stop sticks. The suspects fled the area but one suspect was immediately apprehended, while the other suspect was located by Phoenix Police tactical teams hiding in the attic of a nearby home. Police K-9 Bane was released to capture the suspect but was killed in the line of duty during the apprehension. K-9 Bane had served with the Phoenix Police Department for two years.
