Design Standards Manual for Water and Wastewater Systems
For January 1, 2022, a new Design Standards Manual for Water and Wastewater Systems was finalized.
The new manual is available from the Design Standards section of the Phoenix Water Services website.
To determine if a project is following the new Standards Manual, the following criteria has been established:
Any projects with engineering plans submitted prior to December 31, 2021 will not be required to change to the new standards.
If a project has received preliminary site plan approval prior to the implementation of the new standards , but has not submitted engineering plans, the engineering plans can be reviewed under the previous standards upon request to your Planning and Development Department (PDD) plan reviewer.
If a Planned Community Development (PCD) project that is required to submit a master water and wastewater drainage plan and report has an approved submitted the plan and report prior to the implementation of the new design standards , but has not submitted engineering plans, the engineering plans for any site plan within the PCD can be reviewed under the previous standards upon request to your PDD plan reviewer.
