Arrest of Timothy Boles for Sexual Assault

The juvenile victim was asleep when the suspect entered her apartment.  He removed her to a secluded area across the street where he sexually assaulted her.

In 2010 the case was reviewed and the biological evidence was submitted for Laboratory analysis.  DNA was profiled and entered into the DNA database.  On 2/17/2011 a match to Timothy Boles was made.

On 5/26/2011 Boles was found and arrested.  He is now serving over 300 years for this case and other sexual assault charges.

Arrest of Ray Lopez for Sexual Assault

Date / Time of Occurrence: November 7, 1994 at 20:40

The juvenile victim selling magazines subscriptions door to door and went with Lopez supposedly to get money.  Once at an unknown location he sexually assaulted her.

In 2010 the case was reviewed and the biological evidence was submitted for Laboratory analysis.  DNA was profiled and entered into the DNA database.  In 2005 the DNA was matched to a 1996 case and in 2008 it was matched to a 1995 case.  On 8/18/2011 a match to Ray Lopez was made.

On 11/7/2011 Lopez was arrested for this case and the 1995 & 1996 cases.  He is now serving a 25 year sentence plus a lifetime probation.

Wilyie McCarthy

Arrest of Wilyie Louis McCarthy for Sexual Assault

The victim was making rounds as a security guard when approached by the suspect and asked for the time.  As she walked away she was attacked from behind, punched in the face, and then sexually assaulted.

In 2000 the case was reviewed and the biological evidence was submitted for Laboratory analysis.  DNA was profiled and entered into the DNA database.  In 2003 the DNA was matched to a 1996 case.  On 3/7/2007 a match to Wilyie McCarthy was made.  At that time he was serving time in an Oklahoma prison.

On 11/7/2011, upon his release from Oklahoma, McCarthy was arrested for this case and the 1996 case.  He is now serving a 10 year sentence and will need to register as a sex offender.

Arrest of Christian Delacruz for Sexual Assault

Date / Time of Occurrence: August 18, 1998 at 21:00

The suspect offered the juvenile victim a ride to a local convenience store.  Once in the vehicle she was beaten and sexually assaulted.

In 2001 the case was reviewed and the biological evidence was submitted for Laboratory analysis.  DNA was profiled and entered into the DNA database.  On 11/23/2004 a match to Christian Delacruz was made.  At that time Delacruz was in Federal custody.

On 1/18/2011, upon his release from Tucson, Delacruz was arrested for this case.  He is now serving a 14 year sentence and will be on lifetime probation.

Ariel Lopez-Perez        

Arrest of Ariel Lopez-Perez for Sexual Assault

Date / Time of Occurrence: 10/14/2003 at 08:00

The suspect and two others were acting as coyotes.  During a raid on the drop house it was found that they had been sexual assaulting three victims.  Two of the suspects were arrested at the scene and received 10.5 and 12 year sentences.

In 2011 the case was reviewed and the biological evidence was re-submitted for Laboratory analysis.  DNA was profiled and entered into the DNA database.  On 6/2/2011 a match to Ariel Lopez-Perez was made.  At that time Lopez-Perez was in Federal custody in Georgia.

On 10/20/2011, upon his release from Georgia Lopez-Perez was arrested for this case.  He is now serving a 7 year sentence.
