To promote respect and understanding among all groups by eliminating discrimination throughout the city of Phoenix.

Meetings

The Human Relations Commission meets monthly on the third Monday of the month. Meetings are at 6 p.m. in the Fire Administration Building Great Room, 150 S. 12th Street. The commission is staffed by the Equal Opportunity Department. All meetings are open to the public. The commission invites interested persons to join in working on its activities and projects.

Membership 

The Phoenix Human Relations Commission is made up of 17 volunteer citizens appointed by the mayor and City Council. It advises the City Council on human relations issues and assists in implementing the city's policy against discrimination. The commission operates or supports various programs designed to promote positive intergroup relations.
