The Annual Arizona MLK Celebration Awards Breakfast is a collaboration of the Phoenix Human Relations Commission and the City of Phoenix Equal Opportunity Department, in partnership with the Arizona Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration Committee and the Arizona OIC.
The awards program honors the accomplishments of Phoenix area residents, including youth, who contribute significantly to creating a compassionate and socially just community through their dedication to human and civil rights by promoting cultural diversity, awareness and unity as it seeks to involve all Arizonans in recognizing the legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and the contributions he left to the world in his quest for equality for all people.
With the support of the City of Phoenix Equal Opportunity Department, The Human Relations Commission's MLK Awards Nomination Selection Committee; made up of Commissioners and volunteers that oversee the selection process for the Calvin C. Goode Lifetime Achievement, MLK Jr. Living the Dream, and the AZ MLK Corporate Awards.
