      Overview

      The mission of the Equal Opportunity Department is to create an inclusive and equitable environment where everyone feels valued. We strive to eliminate discrimination by fostering a spirit of caring, collaboration and commitment through fair and transparent services.

      Programs and Services

      • ADA Compliance Program

        Ensures that all City programs, services, activities, and facilities are accessible and usable by all the people of the City of Phoenix.

      • Business Relations Division

        Administering the certification application process and monitoring contracts to ensure they are being fulfilled as intended.

      • Compliance & Enforcement Division

        Responsible for investigating complaints of discrimination in employment, housing, and public accommodations.

      • Commissions Support

        These citizen commissions develop programs and advise the Mayor and City Council on human and civil rights, women's issues and disability concerns.
