As a Utility Mechanic - SCBA with the City of Phoenix Water Services Department, you will perform skilled tasks in the repair and maintenance of pumps and mechanical equipment at a water or wastewater treatment plant, pumping station, deep well site, lift station, or booster station. Work will require the operation of machinery, and emphasis is upon servicing, installing, repairing, and maintaining equipment. Work is performed under the general supervision of an Operations & Maintenance Supervisor, and the general direction of Senior Utility Operator, Maintenance Planner Scheduler, or an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic, who reviews work while in progress and upon completion. Work assignments are varied, and employees must be knowledgeable in general mechanical maintenance/repair and hydraulic principles.

The Water Services Department is seeking to fill multiple openings for the Instrumentation & Control (I&C) Specialist classification. This classification performs skilled work in the installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of all types of electronic instruments and automatic process control equipment used in a water/wastewater treatment system. Examples include, but are not limited to, ultrasonic metering devices, remote terminal units, laboratory analytical equipment, and a wide variety of electronic measuring instruments.
