In 2023, the Office of Public Health conducted it's first comprehensive community needs assessment to inform the development of a plan for use of opioid settlement funds. The aim of the Phoenix Community Opioid Survey was to document the perspectives, experiences and needs of the Phoenix community, for consideration in deciding how to invest the city's opioid settlement funds.

SAMSHA Art Contest

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Service Administration's (SAMHSA) Office of Recovery is hosting an art contest. The 2024 theme is “The Art of Recovery" focusing on breaking down societal stigma surrounding mental health conditions and substance use as well as fostering understanding and support for those on their journey to wellness. Submissions are being accepted through June 28. ​

Phoenix Substance Use and Overdose Dashboard

The Office of Public Health, in partnership with the Phoenix Fire Department and Phoenix Police Department, launched the first Phoenix Substance Use and Overdose Dashboard (PSUOD).

The PSUOD will provide near real-time data on substance use trends and overdoses by gender, age group, housing status and location. ​
