Supportive Services for Housing Residents
Housing Supportive Services is a service coordination program which connects residents to services that promote self-sufficiency and improved quality of life. They can include programs that deliver digital access, mental and physical health services, financial education, afterschool education, and career training.

Aeroterra Community Center

In October 2018, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) designated the Aeroterra Community Center as a HUD EnVision Center. The center is open to Edison-Eastlake residents and the larger community. Envision Centers focus on four pillars for success; Economic Empowerment, Educational Advancement, Health and Wellness, and Character and Leadership. A variety of classes and programs are provided within these four pillars.
The Aeroterra Community Center is an ARIZONA@WORK Affiliate Center, offering a single point of entry to a network of employment, classroom training, on-the-job-training, educational and vocational programs and referrals to program partners. The Employment Specialist assist residents and community members with employment services, training opportunities, and Section 3 programs. For information call 602-601-7184.
Emmett McLoughlin Community Training Education Center (CTEC)

The Emmett McLoughlin CTEC is a vital community center serving residents of Henson Village, the greater Central City South area, and all of Phoenix. Through the Housing Coalition of Service Providers, the center offers a variety of scheduled services, including monthly food distribution, leadership and computer classes, youth leadership programs, Volunteer Income Tax Assistance, employment services, and other educational opportunities. Employment services include resume and cover letter assistance, job search support, internet access, job readiness workshops, and referrals to the ARIZONA@WORK Program to help individuals secure meaningful employment.
The Community Action Team brings together neighborhood associations, resident leaders, and community stakeholders to address local concerns. Meetings feature presentations and discussions on crime and blight reduction, development projects, zoning variances, liquor applications, and community services.
Additionally, Service Coordination is available for Henson Village residents, providing tailored support and resources.

Family Self-Sufficiency Program
The Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) Program empowers individuals and families on their path to financial independence. Designed to support low-income housing and Section 8 residents, this five-year program provides personalized guidance to help participants achieve stability and long-term success.
Through one-on-one support from Case Managers, FSS participants create customized plans to:
- Increase income through career development and job opportunities
- Complete educational goals
- Establish or repair credit
- Develop a savings plan to build financial security
- Improve financial well-being
- Work toward homeownership
