Effective Oct. 1, 2022, eligible City of Phoenix employees may use up to 480 hours (12 weeks) of Paid Parental Leave for the birth, adoption, or foster care of a child during a 12-month period. This new benefit demonstrates the City's commitment to creating an environment where employees don't have to choose between growing a career or growing a family.
Paid Parental Leave is the latest addition to the City's outstanding benefits package. Approved by Phoenix City Council this summer, it provides greater flexibility for employees to take leave so they can bond with and care for a new child, without exhausting their accrued leave time. Paid Parental Leave, along with the City's other generous benefits, could help in retaining and recruiting top talent to serve our community.
