    The Human Services Department – Business & Workforce Development Division provides career services, training, and job search support to help Phoenix residents find employment, enhance skills, and secure long-term career success.

    Our Services Include:

    • Job Search Assistance – Access to job listings and employer connections
    • Skills Training & Certifications – Short-term training for in-demand industries

    Adult and Dislocated Worker Program

    Our workforce specialists help you identify strengths, grow your skills, and access job opportunities through:

    Who May Qualify?

    • Adults (over age 18) looking for employment
    • Dislocated Workers who have recently been laid off 
    • Displaced Homemakers (due to divorce, separation, or loss of spouse's income)
    • Transitioning Military Members & Veterans (other than a dishonorable discharge) that is within 12 months of separating, or within 24 months of retirement, or recently separated veterans who are within 48 months of discharge.
    • Workers certified under a Petition for Trade Adjustment Assistance under the Trade Act of 1974

    Training Assistance

    Eligible individuals may qualify for Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) funding for short-term training programs in targeted industries. Training funds are limited and not guaranteed.

With the support of federal funding, we collaborate with local resource partners to address the diverse needs of job seekers and provide valuable support for career development in our community.
