    8 Common Blight Violations

The front yard of a residential property with overgrown brush and dead plants is an example of a common blight violation.

The Neighborhood Preservation Ordinance is the defining document that is home to the 8 Common Blight Violations. Dead and/or overgrown vegetation, outside storage, accumulation of junk, litter or debris, parking on non-dust proof surfaces, fences in disrepair, graffiti, inoperable vehicles and vacant/accessible structures are all prohibited per City Code.

Neighborhood Preservation Inspectors are always ready to assist and can offer resources to private property owners to remain compliant to the City Code. In addtion to residential properties, Neighborhood Preservation Inspectors are responsible for the education and enforcement of City Codes related to: zoning, mobile vending, adult businesses, massage establishments and portions of Phoenix's Animal Ordinance.
