Environmental Quality and Sustainability Commission
On March 22, 2017 the Phoenix City Council approved the Environmental Quality Commission's name change to better reflect its work. The focus of the Environmental Quality and Sustainability Commission (EQSC) has expanded to embrace the social, ecologic and economic objectives of sustainability to improve quality of life for current and future generations.
The EQSC identifies and advises the Phoenix City Council on environmental quality and sustainability issues affecting the city and recommends to the City Council policies, positions, roles, and action the city might take to address those issues in a manner that protects, promotes, restores, or enhances the city's natural and built environments.
