Through this planning effort, the Street Transportation Department seeks to improve safety, access, and comfort for people walking and riding bicycles in the neighborhoods along 3rd Avenue. The study will recommend concepts for sidewalks and innovative facilities, including shade trees and features that will minimize neighborhood cut-through traffic and help reduce vehicle speed.
