About the Grand Canal

There are several City parks along the route where people can park a vehicle and access the Grand Canalscape on foot or bike. Locations are listed below and on the Grand Canalscape map.

• Kid Street Park – 23rd Avenue and Hazelwood Street
• Steele Indian School Park – 2nd Street and Indian School Road
• Madison Park – 14th Street and Glenrosa
• Longview Park – 14th Street and Indian School Road
• Urbandale Park - 20th Street and the Grand Canal
• Perry Park – 32nd Street and Windsor Avenue
• Pueblo Grande Museum – 44th Street and Washington Street
• Papago Park – Van Buren Street and Galvin Parkway
• Rio Salado Park/Tempe Town Lake Marina – Tempe Town Lake Drive west of Scottsdale Road (Tempe)
• Tempe Beach Park – Rio Salado Parkway and Mill Avenue (Tempe)

There are numerous bike lanes that connect with the Grand Canalscape. Additionally, bicyclists may enter the pathway from Neighborhood Connection access points. Bikeways and Neighborhood Connection locations are provided on the Grand Canalscape map.

The Grand Canalscape connects with several Valley Metro bus routes and is close to the Valley Metro Rail route.  The following Valley Metro Rail stations are closest to the Grand Canalscape:

• Central Avenue and Campbell Avenue
• 44th Street and Washington Street
• Priest Drive and Washington Street (Tempe)

Bicycles are allowed on Valley Metro buses and the light rail system. Buses are equipped with two front bike racks and light rail vehicles have hanging bike backs.​​
