Volunteer with Water Services

Become a Phoenix Water Wrangler!​​

This empowering volunteer program mobilizes community members to promote efficient and responsible water use in the City of Phoenix. Phoenix Water Wranglers will serve as representatives in local events under the direction of the Volunteer Coordinator and/or Water Conservation Staff, by assisting in water conservation outreach, communication, and education.

Who we are looking for: 

• Volunteers who are at least 18 years or older.
• A high school graduate/GED equivalent, or higher.
• An excellent communicator.
• A person who is able to fully complete pre-service, required training.
• A person who is comfortable with public speaking, familiar with community development, and experienced in collaborating across diverse groups.
• A person who is creative, responsible, flexible, and self-motivated. 
• A person who is passionate about learning and promoting water conservation and sustainability in our desert city​.

About The Wrangler Group:​​​

Be​ginning in 2022, motivated Phoenix residents joined Phoenix Water experts to learn more about water resources, water treatment, the drought, and the role of conservation. These residents wanted to get involved in supporting the City's outreach and education efforts. They believe that water conservation can increase the City's overall resilience and feel that their own contribution to these efforts can result in increased support for efficient and responsible water use.

Wranglers dedicate their time to learning beyond the basics- they are trained in community engagement, peer education, and solution-oriented assistance. Wranglers do their work in public events, educational settings, and in their homes and personal pursuits. Their knowledge and passion help our community to support the Phoenix Culture of Conservation and ensure safe and reliable water service for the future and today.
