Roosevelt Street to Moreland, 33rd to 34th Ave Improvements

Description

The project includes neighborhood street and sidewalk improvements, including installation of sidewalk along 34th Avenue from Roosevelt to Moreland Street, installation of sidewalk along Latham Street from 33rd Avenue to 34th Avenue and widening the street along 33rd Avenue from Roosevelt to Moreland Street.  The existing private irrigation ditch along the west side of 33rd Avenue will be replaced with an underground pipe to convey water to the existing flood irrigated lots.  ADA curb ramps within the limits of the project will also be upgraded or installed to current ADA guidelines.


 

Project Highlights

  • Widening the west side of 33rd Avenue from Roosevelt to Moreland Streets to include curb, gutter and sidewalk

  • Installing sidewalks

  • Installing curb and gutter

  • Installing ADA curb ramps

  • Installing slurry seal pavement treatment

  • Replacing the existing irrigation ditch with concrete pipe along the west side of 33rd Avenue south of Moreland Street.  The existing open private irrigation ditch in other locations will continue to serve the neighborhood as it does today.


Goals of the Project

  • The project will improve pedestrian connectivity and ADA accessibility

Anticipated Schedule

  • Construction is anticipated to begin on October 12th, 2020.
  • Anticipated completion date - Late spring 2021.
