Contact Environmental Services Division
The Environmental Services Division (ESD) is dedicated to protecting public health and the environment. It does this by maintaining compliance with environmental regulations for drinking water, stormwater, and wastewater quality.
We provide a safe and reliable domestic water supply to all residents and maintain a clean, healthy environment. ESD conducts effective management of the Water Monitoring, Industrial Pretreatment, Commercial Inspection, Stormwater Management, and Wastewater Monitoring programs,
By collecting water quality samples the division supports the department's needs for compliance and operational data. This data comes from the water distribution and wastewater systems. Sophisticated, computerized sampling and measuring equipment in addition to manual sample collection techniques are used to collect samples. These samples are then analyzed by the city's Water Services Laboratory. We also respond to public inquiries and concerns about drinking water quality.
Outreach programs educate industry and the public about damage from dumping chemicals into drains, manholes or storm drains. The division also participates in a number of special projects, studies, and emergency response efforts.
