The goal of each T2050 Mobility Study is to improve safety, connectivity, and accessibility for all people -- regardless of their age or ability level -- who walk, ride a bicycle, or use transit to get to their important destinations.

    Mobility Area Description

The Grand Canal, one of the Valley’s approximately 200 miles of irrigation canals, bisects the Indian School-Grand Neighborhoods Mobility Area running from the southwest corner to the northeast corner. Although there are several pre-schools and parochial schools, there are no public schools. Two new HAWK beacons were installed in the area: one at the Grand Canal crossing near Indian School Road and 22nd Ave. and the other at the Grand Canal crossing near 19th Ave. and Glenrosa Ave. A HAWK is a special kind of traffic signal that lets the user (pedestrian, bicyclist) push a button, which causes signal lights to flash to stop traffic, so the user can safety cross the street. The area also lacks parks and healthcare facilities - the four nearest urgent care facilities are more than a mile away.
