    Commissions Supported by Equal Opportunity

    These citizen commissions develop programs and advise the Mayor and City Council on matters related to human and civil rights, women's issues and disability concerns.

    Phoenix Mayor's Commission on Disability Issues

    Advises on accessibility to city facilities and properties, and public transportation needs for people with disabilities.

    Phoenix Women's Commission

    Provides advocacy, leadership and support on issues facing women of all ages to enhance their quality of life. 

    Phoenix Human Relations Commission

    Promotes respect and understanding among all groups by eliminating discrimination throughout the city of Phoenix.

    Become a Member of a Phoenix Commission

    Commission members provide input to the Mayor, City Council, City Manager and city departments on a variety of issues affecting the city. All residents are welcome to participate in this important process. Good government is not just the responsibility of elected officials and city employees—residents also play an important role.
