The project has expanded to further create more biking structures in the area, expanding from Van Buren Street to Roosevelt Street. The team has looked at several options, which are viewable below in greater detail. Additionally, another bike project is being proposed along Fillmore Street from Central Avenue to 7th Street.
Garfield-Edison Park Proposed Bike Improvements
The goal of the project is to create a low-stress bicycling route from 7th Street to 24th Street. This corridor was designated as a bike boulevard almost a decade ago. The current project will look at upgrading the corridor to current bike boulevard standards.
Project Details
The map below depicts the five different locations for which the team is proposing improvements:
- Red - Fillmore from 7th Street to 16th Street
- Yellow - Taylor from 9th Street to 15th Street
- Green - Villa from 16th Street to 20th Street
- Pink - 20th Street from Van Buren to Roosevelt
- Blue - Roosevelt from 20th Street to 24th Street
